I AM! Holy moly, the end of the year is approaching fast. Here in Michigan, we have something we like to call β€œfake spring”. It’s when we have one random beautiful week, and then Michigan decides to punish us with more snow. Well, we had fake spring a few weeks ago, but honestly it was more of a fake summer! The weather was in the 80’s all week. The students went BESERK and we all enjoyed the sunshine…the next week it snowed. With the weather changes and the end of the year coming up, my kids are off the wall! Can you relate?

This year, I decided to lean into it and celebrate the approaching summer season. We are wrapping up our Orton Gillingham phonics curriculum and my students have now learned all seven syllable types.

With that in mind, I created this end of the year syllable activity resource for my students to have some fun while they work on mastering their syllables.

Here’s how it works! You can chose between practicing one syllable type, or all of them as mixed practice. Each item (sunglasses, popsicles, surfboards, and watermelon slices) has a page of each syllable type (open & closed, magic e, vowel team, bossy r, diphthong, and consonsant le) as well as two pages of mixed practice, totaling in over 30 pages of syllable division practice!

To help you get your students in the mood for summer, you can download a freebie sample below!

Let us know how it goes! If you enjoy the sample you can grab the whole 30 page resource below.

Enjoy!
